California Mikan — Large Box (Shipped)

Sale price Price $42.00 Regular price

Mikan is what the Japanese call a seedless, easy-to-peel mandarin. This one is Tango, invented at UC Riverside. These trees sit at roughly 1,300 feet in the De Luz hills of Temecula.

On the hill, water drains fast, nights run cool, and the trees are constantly stressed. These conditions concentrate sweetness and create flavor. Every tree is climbed to and picked by hand, the way farmers in Japan's Kii region have grown mikan on steep hillsides for centuries.

12 pounds of fruit. We pick them on the weekend, and ship Monday or Tuesday. Shipping calculated at checkout.
